While it has shattered all records at the local box-office, Baahubali 2 continues with its quest at the international box-office. After setting a new precedent at the US box-office with its opening weekend collections, the film has apparently conquered the hearts of the UK audiences and media too. The British Film Institute in London organized a special screening of the film yesterday evening at 7 p.m. where the entire UK media hailed the movie. The team of producer Shobhu Yarlagadda, director S.S. Rajamouli, Anushka Shetty and music director, M.M. Keervani, were present at the event. According to sources, Baahubali 2 was one of the first prominent films in the week long cultural event, dedicated to celebrate India-UK-Europe cultural exchange.
The box-office collections of S.S. Rajamouli’s magnum opus, as per latest reports, now stand at a whopping Rs 506 crore worldwide, out of which it has grossed Rs 121 crore overseas. However estimates suggest that the worldwide collection is much more if one were to include the collections from previews. The movie collected Rs 65.65 cr in its opening weekend in USA and emerged at the number three position at the US box-office, after Vin Diesel’s Fast and Furious and Salma Hayek’s How To Be a Latine Lover.
The movie has also come up for huge appreciation on the international front with its world class visual effects outsourced from over 33 studios across the world, including 22 from the US, the path-breaking movie has been in the news for several firsts to its credit.
