After Akshay Kumar who has often gone out of his way to extend his support to the Army, it is actor Kunal Kapoor, who is now doing his bit for the Army. Recently Kunal took time out for Operation Sadhbhavana-a new initiative by the Indian Army, that helps in weaning people off the consequences of insurgency. The Army men who had conducted a trip for 20 girls from Assam, wanted him to hold a special meet for the underprivileged girls as part of their annual educational and motivational tour. The actor took time out and spoke to them about his life as an actor and entrepreneur and of the challenges he had faced along the way. Post the interaction; the young girls also got a chance to click selfies and spend time chatting with the actor. At the end of the interaction the army presented him with a medal, as a token of their appreciation.
Incidentally, this is not the first time the actor has pledged his support for the Army. Prior to this, Kunal Kapoor had actively raised money for the martyrs and their families who suffered in the URI attacks. Recently he was also seen visiting injured jawans at the Paraplegic Rehabilitation Center in Pune, apart from running a social media campaign to support them.
The Sadbhavna trip will travel to cities like Pune, Mumbai, and Bangalore where underpriveleged students, from areas with insurgency, get a chance to visit different cities and meet influential personalities from varied fields. Talking about the experience, Kunal Kapoor said, “The army not only protects us, but is also deeply involved in nation building. This is an amazing initiative and I am very fortunate that I had a chance to be a small part of the wonderful work they do”
