The year 2017 is likely to end on a grand note for global icon Priyanka Chopra with the accolades and the recognition that are coming her way on all fronts. Days after she was named the world’s sexiest Asian woman for the fifth time by Eastern Eye newspaper, the actress has now been honoured with the Digital Marketers Award for Most Effective Use of Digital Platforms for a Social Cause in serving the cause of the underprivileged. The award comes in the wake of Priyanka’s efforts to draw attention to the plight of Syrian refugee kids in Jordan, with the posts and pictures she shared on Instagram. The actress, who is also UNICEF’s Goodwill Ambassador, had succeeded in drawing the attention of the world to the predicament of these children with her posts.
Priyanka later posted a video on Twitter in which she expressed her gratefulness to MoneyControl.com, a leading financial portal, “My work with UNICEF to bring light to the plight of children across the world is very important and the role of social media in taking this message and story to the world and especially the younger audience, has become very important. The idea is to involve them and make them a little more aware about the situations and problems people face in different parts of the world. I’d like to thank you for recognizing this effort and acknowledging my contribution for the most effective use of the digital platform for a social cause,” she said.
