Aishwarya Rai Bachchan will inspire the youth in a big way with her character in Fanney Khan, in which she plays the role of a glamorous singer. The former Miss World, who was last seen in Karan Johar’s Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, will be seen addressing the issue of body-shaming, which has lately become a matter of great concern. This was revealed by the producer of Fanney Khan, Prerna Arora, who recently spoke about how the actress was kicked up about the role from day one, “It is a role that Aishwarya has never explored on screen in her career so far. Moreover, she will talk about the issue of body-shaming in the film. It is an extraordinary role with a lot of substance and Aishwarya is an outstanding performer in her own right.  The film is a very special one on many fronts but it will be one film that Aishwarya Rai Bachchan will feel very proud about,” she said.

Apparently, Aishwarya Rai is so immersed in the role that she along with the other lead actors Anil Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao, shot round the clock at a suburban studio when Mumbai was inundated with heavy rains due to Cyclone Ockhi. Recalling Aishwarya Rai’s thorough sense of professionalism Arora said, “She is gorgeous but it’s not just about physical appearance. I saw her at work on the sets one day and noticed that even after finishing her part she would sit back to clap and inspire the other character artistes.”

Fanney Khan is a very special film on many fronts but it will definitely be one film that Aishwarya Rai Bachchan will feel very proud about,- producer Prerna Arora

Fanney Khan which is co-produced by Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra and directed by debut-making director, Atul Manjrekar, is said to be the Hindi adaptation of the 2000 Dutch film, Everybody’s Famous, which was also nominated for a Best Foreign Language film at the Oscars. The film narrates the story of a father and his teenage daughter, who aspires to become a great singer. However the 16 year old’s weight and appearance, pose a major barrier in her making it big. Her father then holds a famous singer hostage, in order to ensure that his daughter gets her due. Aishwarya Rai will reportedly be playing the role of one of most popular singing stars in the country, who is kidnapped by the father of the teenager. Among other things, the musical will also reportedly have the actress rendering her voice in at least four compositions in the film.
